About Us

Hello from Mark Stowers, co-owner of Comfort Keepers in LaCrosse, WI. Welcome to our new blog. We are very excited to be able to share elder care information, tips, and resources with our local community.

To get things started, here’s a little about me:

In 2005 Mark decided to change his direction in his life and along with a friend started with the franchise Comfort Keepers in La Crosse Wisconsin. Comfort Keepers provides non-medical home care to the elderly and disabled. Since then the La Crosse Comfort Keepers has grown to be one of the largest agencies in the area.  In 2008, La Crosse won the fastest growing Comfort Keepers in the Midwest for their income category.

Before that Mark was an accountant for twenty five years in all types of business and with all types of positions ranging from Accountant to Chief Financial Officer to Consultant.

Mark has several degrees, a BA in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University at St Paul Minnesota in 1981, a BA in History from Southwest State University at Marshall Minnesota in 1976, and AA in Liberal Arts from St Louis Community College in Florissant Valley at St. Louis Missouri in 1974.

Mark is married to Jan and has a son Steve and a daughter Erica. Erica works at Comfort Keeper as a marketer and Jan is in charge of Human Resources.

He also volunteers with the Coulee Region Business Center a business incubator, Junior Achievement a group that works with kids teaching them business and the Hillview Greenhouse Life Center which grows organic food with the help of elderly and disable volunteers.
